A real leather jacket is built to last for years, and a little everyday care helps it get there. Here is how we suggest looking after yours.
Hang it on a wide hanger
A wide hanger supports the shoulders and helps the jacket keep its shape. Thin wire hangers can leave marks and pull the shoulders out of line.
Keep it away from direct heat
Heat can dry out leather. Keep your jacket away from radiators, heaters and hairdryers. If it gets wet, let it dry naturally at room temperature.
Never machine wash it
Washing machines and tumble dryers can damage leather and sheepskin. For a proper clean, take your jacket to a specialist leather cleaner. Sheepskin and suede pieces should also go to a specialist who works with those materials.
Check the care details first
Each Belma product page lists the outer material, lining and care advice for that jacket, so check it before you clean anything.
